The tiniest steps linger in our minds

Like a child stretching its legs in the simplest strides.

We shelter not our innocence for safety and security.

Instead, we embrace the adventure,

Galloping like a paladin into the unseen storm.

Life is experienced and learned..

Love is found and embraced..

Loss and pain are unwanted but accepted..

We gather courage like a badge unto our hearts.

Strength and resolve are the pillars that sustain us

Through all the happiness and joy..

Through all the suffering and sorrow..

Through all the dreams and reverie..

We gather breath like an ocean lives to…

The Chilean Patagonia region is world-renowned for its natural wonders. But what many visitors don’t know is that within this region lies Aysén, an area so remote that visitors are only now getting a glimpse of. Let me take you on an incredible journey through nature from a topographical point-of view across Chile’s Andes Mountains onto ancient volcanic features. In addition, we find breathtaking views across this region, such as were carved by volcanoes or deposited during eruptions.

My journey began the following day after arriving in Coyhaique. It would be a two-week excursion along the Carretera Austral, a highway…

From the Indian presence through a multitude of military occupations, Northwest, Florida is home to many of the nation’s oldest citizens still roaming the streets of our cities and towns unable to rest in peace.

Many stories exist about encounters with spirits from the other side, whether the experiences occurred here, or shaped the perceptions of those who have moved here. This leads one to believe that the great beyond may not be as far removed from everyday life as we might like to think it is.

The stories range from the blood-drenched and headless variety to the more loving…

I remember my teacher telling me that stories have structure. I was told that if I learned the essence of structure, my stories would improve. So now we’ve established this rule: any good story must be something built around a foundation.

But hold on, is there any truth to that? Do stories have structure, do they need structure? I’ve always thought that when we try to imagine something as simple as the nature of story (with its logic), our imagination gets so busy thinking up new ways or creating alternate realities. A writer who was born with no formal training…

What is a true friend? A friend is someone that is willing to lend a hand, an ear to listen to your problems, to hug you, and a shoulder to cry on. A friend is there to comfort you in times of sadness.

You should count your blessings not by what you possess, but by the type of friends you have. Life is not complete without someone to share it with. Can you picture yourself all alone in this changing world?

Having a genuine friend/friends gives us self-satisfaction in our life. It provides us the golden opportunity to share a part of our life and inner feelings and reveal them to another person. In such circumstances, we become closer together than ever before by forming bonds that are deeper than mere friendship. …

Among the towering Himalayas lies Ladakh, one of India’s most spectacular regions. No longer is there a need to explore the region without the comforts of home.

But there’s also an almost tribal quality to this place: if you’re not from India, speaking in their language with an accent might be a little difficult to understand although English is sometimes spoken. That means being fluent when speaking with locals can require skills such as speaking slowly. I recall a woman asking me where I was from before revealing her local dialect. …

How many times have you wanted to write a best-selling novel but found it overwhelming to get it on paper? Or maybe the author doesn’t realize that he or she is trying too hard at every step of his or her creation — whether through time, financial resources and professional experience, creativity for those close by with limited knowledge about what needs improvement, etc.

If that is the case, begin with your main character and the visualization your character presents you to form the plot. Then shut your eyes, grab your notebook or computer, and imagine the main character come…

The idea of tourism returning to Bosnia and Herzegovina would have been unimaginable twenty years ago. Although the scars of war still remain today, this Balkan nation has made a triumphant return to tourism. Today, visitors are drawn back to its winding valleys, Alpine mountains, and fascinating cities at the junction of history. Recently, I took the opportunity to visit this Balkan country to explore how it is working toward a brighter future.

The three-hour drive from Sarajevo International Airport was quite an experience, sometimes a little frightening as we maneuvered the mountain highway not over 20 feet wide. Some…

I’m as guilty as the next person of bringing with me a narrow and outdated idea of what I want to eat while traveling abroad. But that’s just my way — it can’t be true anywhere else in life! The things we crave when out for our morning walk are simple but important: freshly made homemade meals from local farmers (you’ll find these days far more common than they used at some point) grilled lamb shoulder steak boulangerie or fresh fish fillets paired nicely alongside pate de panes dusted liberally over your choice side dishes like braised red cabbage topped…

Vineyard in the Loire Valley near Saumur — By La Chiquita — https://www.flickr.com/photos/lachiquita/7499602520/, CC BY-SA 2.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=23303972

The Loire Valley represents some of the most distinguished chateaux in all of France. Among these celebrated estates, you’ll find a wealthy generation of vintners whose low-intervention wines are among the finest natural wines in the world. Subtle flavors that range from sweet to complex to intense or even outright acidic can provide exquisite moments for wine lovers.

On my last trip to France’s Loire Valley, March 2019 just before the outbreak of Covid-19, I did something I always wanted to do; visiting a chateau. This might sound foolish coming from a writer who has traveled the world over. However…
